Linda Havlik Biography

Linda Havlik~ “Selling The Santa Barbara Lifestyle since 1974.”

For Linda, Real Estate has never been about merely buying and selling homes. Rather, she says, “Real Estate is about matching my clients with a home that fits their lifestyle!” My motto is: “It’s all about You!” Linda’s gift to her clients, whether Sellers or Buyers, is to listen to her clients’ needs! Former clients Rick Hibbs and Karin Nelson, expressed that, “Linda was obviously listening to our answers…She spared no effort with us and with the seller with equal professionalism, patience and attention to detail.” She utilizes her vast market knowledge, and researches the current market to provide you with homes’ information if you are a Buyer or Seller, to help you make well-informed and relevant comparable sales decisions!
Linda makes sure to keep her clients updated about homes for sale, homes that have been sold, and the market values for both. She also provides information about marketing and financing strategies in order to help make her clients’ lives a little easier. While working with Linda, you will have the confidence needed to make your best decision. Her personal goal is to “impart, communicate and experience both strength and hope” while representing each of her clients. She understands how you feel, and is ready and willing to negotiate with you and contribute her guidance, in order to meet your personal needs and dreams. Christine Anderson, a client whom Linda aided in buying a house, attests to this saying: “I feel very fortunate to have found a person with such integrity to help me through this critical process. Linda made it possible for me to buy a house that I thought beyond my reach.”

In 2002 Linda was awarded the prestigious Howard Gates Award by the Santa Barbara Association Of Realtors (SBAOR), for “going the extra mile” to ensure that the special needs of an elderly client were met. Evonne Dicus, who has bought homes through Linda, concurs, saying, “If I needed to restrict my comments to one phrase, it would have to be that Linda redefines the meaning of ‘going the extra mile’. She was awesome!” As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist, Linda helps her elderly clientele by meeting their special needs; both physical and emotional. For example, Linda assisted her client with a move into a condo located across the street from the convalescent home where his wife lived. But he had already used his transfer of tax base once- now he needed to do it again! Many agents would have given up hope in this situation, but Linda delved in, researched property tax laws to discover a little known element of the law to enable her client to transfer his property tax base a second time and buy his new home.  This is just one example of how Linda uses her gifts of diligence, integrity, and tenacity to meet her clients’ greatest needs.

Linda’s hard work and effectiveness in her job have been recognized multiple times throughout the years. She is a member of both the RE/MAX Platinum Club, and the 100% club, and embodies the 110% service philosophy prevalent at RE/MAX Santa Barbara. She has also been recognized in the past as President and Founder of the SBOAR Toastmasters. Linda’s continual persistence in obtaining and matching her clients with the resources that best meet their needs, can be seen in the results of her hard work; she has closed hundreds of escrows, and has been rewarded with numerous letters of praise attesting to her outstanding marketing and negotiating skills. Charles and Jill Huckeba, who have bought and sold houses through Linda, strongly agree when they say, “Linda Havlik is so far over ‘a cut above the rest’ in her dedication to her work, that it almost seems to be a reflection of the person she is rather than a learned occupation.”

As can be seen through her active participation, Linda strongly believes in giving back to the community. Linda’s approach to volunteering in the community, especially with the youth and elderly, is that: “I’ve been one and will be one!” She loves to spend her free time working within her church (Harvest Christian Fellowship), through teaching a Sunday school class, and through various other leadership positions. She is also a wife and mother of 2 adult children, and is considered by those who know her, to be a positive, caring, and knowledgeable individual. Linda’s excellent communication skills and involvement within the community have gained her the respect and knowledge she needs in order to best serve her clients make their decisions. If you are interested to find out what your home is worth, she will have a competent, non-pushy professional for you to call the next day. William and Paula Kerby, two clients whom Linda helped purchase a home confirm this, saying: “What is important to us was that Linda was with us every step of the way…She worked for us; she paid attention to details; she commiserated when we needed it.” Linda uses her extensive resources and knowledge of the community to match her clients with a house, neighborhood, community, etc that best suits their needs. If you are considering buying or selling a house, please give Linda a call so that she can match you with a lifestyle fit for you and your needs!
